A great new way of networking at the Digitial Transformation in Insurance conference in May 2020
We were pleased to be invited to the Digital Transformation in Insurance conference this week, with a host of speakers over the two days.
With talk of AI and SaaS, Apps and all manner of InsurTech (as these things are called these days) we were in for a full-on couple of days.
Greeted by a welcoming ‘virtual’ lobby area, pointing in the directions of the auditorium, exhibitors hall and intriguing engagement zone
In the auditorium, we were presented with a list of speakers across the day from all corners of the industry, with well-known faces from BIBA and the CII, together with composite insurers such as AXA, RSA, Hiscox and a live Q&A chat at the end of their 30 minutes sessions. There were several InsurTech speakers too, giving us a vision of insurance distribution in the next 5 years.

The exhibitor hall was a virtual trade show of all things InsurTech, with science fiction becoming fact with AI (Artificial Intelligence) and machine learning capabilities being promoted, and NLP (Natural Language Processing) leaving manual processes behind and making digitising capabilities and data manipulation being very much present-day off the shelf technologies.
For those looking to embrace new technologies, there are a wealth of companies offering innovative solutions to an insurance industry that is, perhaps, generally, slightly behind the times, with the new kids on the block appealing to the new tech generation of Millennial insurance buyers.
